B&R women win again and Bronwen makes a rare appearance

The B&R women’s team enjoyed another successful night in the vets league and avenged last month’s 3 point defeat by Birchfield at the same venue. Although there were only three individual winners (Yvonne Priestman, Sharon Tonks and ex-pat Bronwen Cardy), the team had strength in depth and picked up good points across the board.
Phil Carbutt won the men’s javelin and Dave Kesterton and Russell Rawlins did a double in the 3000m A & B but the men’s team had to settle for fifth place. Clive Brown was off sunning himself in Greece so Dave Cleverley took the opportunity to be the all-rounder, sprinting, jumping and putting the shot.
