Report from Girls Team Manager Rita
In the U/11 girls, Molly Savage ran her best race so far to finish a strong 7th. There were also good performances from Latisha Thompson 20th and Lucy Thomas 28th.
Molly's sister Georgie Savage was also well-placed in 6th in the U/13 girls event. There was a great turn out for the club in this age group. We had eleven runners in the largest race of the day and our other positions were: Kira Swannel 43rd, Georgie Hartigan 61st, Anna Ball 69th, Caelyn Hirschman 100th, Charlotte Tongue 109th, Natalie Gregory 110th, Zoe Scoltock 123rd, Sadie Beard 126th, Danielle Caulwell 132nd and Tamaryn Phipps-Jones 133rd. N.B. the names of two runners differ from the full results and the table shown below, I will have to ask Rita which is the correct version - Phil.
First U/15 girl was again Sally Hogan in 21st with Thomasina Ball 35th and Laura Thomas 51st.
The only club's only U/17 girl competitor on the day Charlotte Cole ran well to finish 18th.
Report from Boys Team Manager Calvin
Under 11s

Above: Jacob, Lewis, Jim and Will wait to be called forward to the start line.

Left: Jacob was the clubs highest finisher on the day. Right: Jim nearing the uphill finish.
Jim Morley and Jacob Hood had a flying start. Jacob swapped places the lead runner with them taking in turns to lead the race. Jacob finished the race in 2nd place only 2 seconds behind the winner. Jim, recovering from illness, dropped back a few places but still finished in the top 10; 8th place. Lewis Anderson also had a great run, his 1st cross country for B&R, finishing in 18th place. William Tuffin completed the under 11 runners for B&R in 60th place.
One short of a complete team the under 11 boys finished 7th club overall with 716 points.
Under 13s
Lawson Phipps-Jones, running his first cross country for B&R, was the 1st under 13 boy home for the club in 27th place. George Thomas, not far behind, in 35th had a great run. Jamie Scoltock finished 66 th and Tim Hoppe 90th.
The under 13 boys were also short of 1 to make a full team finishing 10th overall with 568 points.
Under 15s
Chris Warren ran the 1st lap in the top ten however he lost a few places on the second lap, finishing in 18th place. Other under 15s for B&R were Ashley Grazier 52nd, Harrison Howie 66 th and Jack Morley 69th.
The under 15s were also 1 short of a full team and finished 9th club with 605 points.
Under 17s
Sean Bowden ran a well thought out race, this being his 1st in the under 17 category. He stuck with a group of about 7 runners at the front of the pack throughout the 1st lap. The group split up on the 2nd lap with Sean in touch with 2 front runners. He stuck with on the final lap to take 3rd place. Simon Lanckham, the only other under 17 to run for the club, was knocked over at the 1st bend pushing up towards the back of the runners, however he recovered well to pick up places on all 3 laps to finish 14th overall.
The under 17 men only require 3 for a full team, due to illnesses and other commitments they were also 1 short of a full team finishing 10th club on the day with 385 points.
20 clubs compete in this league and the boys teams finished in the top 10 clubs in all age categories. So congratulations go to all of the runners especially the ones finishing further down the field, without their valuable points the club would not be in the position it is at the start of this season.
Next WMYACCL fixture will be on Sunday 11th November at Arrow Valley Park in Redditch.
