Interested in a very long run (not a race!) from Bewdley to Malvern?
HALESOWEN A & CC INVITES YOUR CLUB TO TAKE PART IN THE FOLLOWING FREE EVENT:
THE WORCESTERSHIRE WAY from BEWDLEY TO MALVERN (WORCESTERSHIRE BEACON)
APPROXIMATELY 31 miles FOR TEAMS OF LEAST 4 INDIVIDUALS - NOTE CONTRARY TO PREVIOUS MAILING THIS CAN BE RUN AS A RELAY (RELAY TEAMS WILL START AFTER RUNNERS DOING THE FULL 31 MILES AND WILL HAVE TO ARRANGE THEIR OWN CHANGEOVERS)
SATURDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER 2008
STARTING AT 8.15 am from the west end of Bewdley (town) bridge at 5 minute intervals
FINISHING AT Worcestershire Beacon, followed by cuppa and cake at St Anne’s Well then into Malvern for food and drink and the train home.
Notes:
1. There is no fee for this event as it is not an organised race – there are no marshalls and each team is responsible for (and trusted to) adhering to the waymarked route, timing themselves and looking after their own welfare. It is simply intended to be a challenging day out followed by a chat, food and a few beers.
2. The route follows the Worcestershire Way which is comprehensively marked, but it is recommended to take the Worcestershire Way Guidebook which contains maps and points of interest.
3. Teams can carry their own clothes, food and water or make arrangements for back-up en route or at the finish.
4. Time to complete is anticipated to be about 6 to 7 hours.
5. Mobile phone numbers between each team will be exchanged before the start.
6. Changing can be either in public WC at St Anne’s Well or the leisure centre in Malvern
Ian Keyte is interested in running or walking this event and any B&R men who are interested in taking part should contact him - he has a copy of the Worcester Way Guide Book and Map Pack.
Any interested parties, please contact Halesowen's Bill Nock on 0121 585 6075 before 9pm.
