The Treat 8 Mile Multi-Terrain Race
Sunday 22nd March 2009

Five B&R runners went to Stourport for the Treat 8 on Sunday but Ian Keyte had to play a supporting role as he continues to struggle with a foot injury.
It was a lovely Spring morning and recent dry weather produced a sandy but mainly firm course. There was only a field of 91 runners for what is a really an excellent local event organised by Kidderminster & Stourport A.C.
The race was won by Mark Garrat, Stourbridge R.C. in 47.11 with first woman being Linda Howell, Bournville Harriers in 55.46.

Phil Anderson was first B&R runner in 12th place (though he admits he benefited from 4 or 5 runners going off course in the last half mile) and 3rd V45 (note Pete, V45 not V55. I must have looked rough – Phil) in 54.19. Phil Richardson was seven places behind in 55.19 for 3rd V50. Pete Hawcroft finished in 26th place in 56.56 and continued his recent winning ways as he was 1st V60. Dagmar Prinzig came 72nd in 1.08.25 as 8th FV40 and was promptly swamped by her excited youngsters.
