The recent annoucement that London would host the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games was wonderful news not only for London but also for the West Midland Region. This decision presents some short and longer term opportunities for the region for sport, tourism, culture and business and longer term regional legacy, particularly for the region's young people. One of the priority areas for the West Midlands will be to exploit the opportunities for holding and training camps.

Whilst we look forward to many of the Region's athletes, in particular swimmers, taking part in the 2012 Olympic Games, there are opportunities for many volunteers. If you are interesting in registering as a Volunteer at the Games, please log onto www.volunteer2012.com
