 West Midlands Disability Swimming Club

Entry Guidelines and Criteria.

The West Midlands Disability Swimming Club is the regional body for competitive swimmers with physical, sensory or learning disabilities.
Swimming for the region could be a pathway to the British Swimming World Class Programmes.
The following criteria have been drawn up to encourage more swimmers to join the squad.

For any swimmers who are not currently members of a swimming club, we will endeavour to access training at local swimming clubs if required.

If you are already in a local swimming club, access to your training programmes would be useful so as not to conflict with your cyclic sessions.

Where opportunities are available to attend training sessions for additional galas and development clinics, priority will be given to those swimmers who attend the regular monthly training sessions.

All members must be able to:

Stop in the water on command and be able to act on coach/lifeguard instructions at all times.
Show commitment to regular training once a month.
Abide by the Club rules.
All members on joining the squad will need to be registered swimmers ASA Category 2 which can be obtained through your ASA Club or through West Midlands Disability Swimming Club.
.  Be eligible for:
British Swimming Functional Classification/UK ASA Registration/BBS Registration
   +  (Deaf swimmers)
