The trials for the West Midland and Midlands multi-regional synchro development squads will take place on 4th January 2009.

The trials will be held on 4th January 2009 at Aston University Swimming Pool, Woodcock Street, Birmingham at 10am (13yrs and under) and 12noon (14-15yrs).

In the younger age group (13 years and under), sixteen girls will be selected from clubs in the West Midland Region for the West Midland development squad and receive extra training as our most promising athletes.

All swimmers who are invited to take part in this squad will be asked to pay a subsidised fee of £40 towards the cost of hiring the facilities.

All swimmers will perform two skills and two figures:

Barracuda
Front walkover
Porpoise lift with bottles
Double arm eggbeater travel

Sixteen girls (17 years and under) will be selected to take part in further trials for the senior squad; this squad will be selected from the West and East Midland regions. They will be invited to take part in further trials on Sunday 8th February 2009. There will also be an opportunity for ten girls to take part in two residential training camps. All swimmers selected to take part in this squad will be asked to pay a subsidised fee of £200 towards the cost of additional coaches and running costs.

The senior squad trials will consist of land work, time trials and synchro skills.
