GENERAL INFORMATION

First sporting success: When I was 8 I won a High Point Trophy in swimming when I was in Hong Kong

Finest sporting moment: Winning gold at the European Junior Championships (2006).

Tip for the top: Enjoy yourself, always stay positive and happy and learn for all of your experiences

Sporting hero: Paula Radcliffe

Closest friends in sport: Everyone at my swimming club and people I've met through British Swimming like Fran Halsall and Lizzie Simmonds

Favourite sport other than swimming: Diving and surfing

Three words that best describe you: Smiley, positive, careful

Would most like to meet: The Beatles

Most prized possession: My bed! Actually my pillow that has my name on it- I take it away to meets with me!

Biggest influence on career: My coach Dave Heathcock

Toughest opponent: Mel Marshall

Who is your role model in swimming: Jo Fargus because she used to swim at the club in Hong Kong where I learned to swim and trained until I was 10. She left the club before I joined but people still talked about her and I always tried to break her records at the club galas.

Biggest passion away from swimming: Shopping

Biggest disappointment: I injured my elbow on day 2 of the 2004 Nationals after winning silver in the 400m free & qualifying fastest in the 100m free. I had planned to win 7 medals that year!

Do you have any pet hates: People crashing into me during training.

Favourite venue and why: The pool for the London 2012 bid because I hope to compete at the Olympics that year!

Tips to relax: Have a candle-lit bath and listen to music

What sort of music do you listen to: Kelly Clarkson

Have you ever lived abroad: Yes, in Hong Kong until I was ten

Family: My mums name is Sally and she does some charity work. My dad is called Ian and he's a Financial Director. I also have a younger brother called Hugh and a younger sister called Imogen.

Ultimate ambition: To win an Olympic medal

Where do you see yourself in 10 years: Probably not swimming anymore. I would like to have a career after swimming within the sport though
