ASA/UKCC Level 2 Coaching Programme - Overview

Diving
Swimming Coaching
Synchronised Swimming
Water Polo

The qualification is split into 6 units
· Units 1 to 3 are core and common to all aquatic disciplines
· Units 4 and 5 are sport specific i.e. Diving, Swimming Coaching, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo
· Unit 6 is vocationally assessed within your home Swim21, SwiMark or Dragon Mark Club
· The qualification will be assessed with the athletes you usually coach
· Units 1 to 5 can be taken in any order
· Units 1 to 5 MUST be passed before you are eligible to have Unit 6 assessed
· You will be practically assessed during 2 visits over a 4 week period within your Swim21, SwiMark or Dragon Mark environment
· Each unit is assessed individually and independently
· Units 1 and 4 are assessed through written examinations
· Units 2, 3 and 5 are assessed continuously
· Unit 6 is vocationally assessed
· Re-assessment opportunities are available for each unit
· You will have to achieve Unit 6 assessment within 12 months of achieving Units 1 to 5
· There is no standardised cost for the course or individual units. This will vary between Approved Centres and availability of local funding opportunities
