Q Why do Approved Centres have to pay £1000?
Because of the level of monitoring and evaluation required to ensure the quality of all ASA qualifications, centres will be charged an annual registration fee to be able to run courses from September onwards.  (Fees are £1,000 per annum for one facility plus £250 per annum for each additional facility (based on wet facilities).  More than one Approved Centre can use the same facility.

The costs for Facilities working within the IOS Approved Centre (previously known as Regional Education Network) will be met by the IOS.  For details of how to be part of the IOS Approved Centre please contact the Education Officer or Regional Business Manager for your region.

By developing a quality-assured delivery system through regularly monitored centres the ASA can ensure its qualified teachers and coaches are amongst the best in the world.

Q What are the benefits of working through the IOS Approved Centre?
Those facilities working with the IOS do not have to pay the approved centres fees.  The IOS will also employ Internal verifiers and cover all paperwork associated with running courses.  The IOS will also ensure all resources and tutors meet the UKCC minimum criteria. The IOS education officer will also take on the monitoring and evaluation function, which includes regular self-assessment.
