Institute of Swimming Regional Networks

We understand that meeting the requirements of becoming an Approved Centre may be beyond some centre's capabilities.  Therefore a centre may become part of the Institute of Swimming's (IoS) regional network of sites, currently being developed by a team of IoS Education Officers.

In this case, the centre becomes a satellite of the relevant regional office and the IoS Education Officer becomes the centre's Key Contact with the ASA Awarding Body.  The centre provides a course organisation contact to liaise with the IoS Education Officer.  The regional office then:

  • Liaises with the ASA Awarding Body
  • Organises the tutor or presenter
  • Organises internal verification
  • Deals with candidate bookings
  • Provides tutor and candidate support
  • Ensures quality assurance process for delivery
  • Performs monitoring and evaluation
  • Provides access to marketing through regional and national sources
  • Provides access for candidates to national and regional funding, making the courses more affordable
  • Has access to a database of continuing professional development (CPD) seminars which can only be delivered through the regional office
  • Pays the centre for the use of its facilities and services

By creating a network of centres, the IoS is able to deliver quality training throughout the region.  To become part of the regional network contact your Education Officer.
