The following are facts on the 26 June Champions Trophy match between South Korea and Netherlands.

 

Champions Trophy Head-to-heads
> South Korea and Netherlands will be gearing up for their ninth clash in the Champions Trophy. Of the previous eight meetings Holland have won six against two triumphs for Korea.
> In their last CT group phase encounter (2007), South Korea sentenced 'Oranje' to a 6-2 defeat, a result that joins Holland's 1980 loss at the hands of Australia (7-3) as their heaviest defeats in the history of the competition.
> In the bronze medal match in Kuala Lumpur, the Netherlands exacted revenge with a 3-2 win over Korea. Taeke Taekema (15' PC), Rob Reckers (26') and Jeroen Hertzberger (52' PC) scored for the Dutch. Woon Kon Yeo (37') and Nam Yong Lee (68' PC) tallied goals for the Asian outfit.

Team Facts South Korea
> South Korea are the only side at the 2008 Champions Trophy that is still without a point. The Koreans are guaranteed to finish last in the pool if they lose against Netherlands.
> They have conceded 16 goals in their first three matches in the tournament, the same tally they allowed in eight matches at the 2007 Champions Trophy in Kuala Lumpur.
> South Korea are the most efficient side in the penalty corner department in Rotterdam, having converted 57% (4-for-7) of their set pieces in Rotterdam.
> If South Korea fail to beat Holland they will have recorded their longest winless sequence in the competition. Going into their clash with Holland, they have failed to triumph in their last six successive Champions Trophy matches.
> South Korea have also lost their last four in a row in the Champions Trophy.

Team Facts Netherlands
> 2003 is the last year, in which the host nation won the Men's Champions Trophy. In that year, Netherlands won the trophy in Amstelveen.
> In their 1-0 defeat Holand were kept scoreless in regulation for the first time since the 2002 gold medal match against Germany, in which Netherlands eventually emerged victorious on penalty strokes.
> Against Argentina, Holland saw a four game winnig streak in the CT come to an end.

Player Facts South Korea
> Two Korea players are coming up on a milestone. Seong-Yung Kan can collect his 150th cap, whilst Eun-Seong Hong can make it 100 international matches for his country.
> Jong Hyun Jang's next goal will be his 10th in the competition. Only three of his countrymen have reached career double digits: Seong Tae Song (17), Woon Kon Yeo (13) and Keon Wook Kang (12).

Player Facts Netherlands
> Teun de Nooijer has not yet closed in further on all-time CT top scorers Taeke Taekema and Sohail Abbas (40 goals each). The Holland ace, much like his team, were kept at bay by Argentina. De Nooijer reminds in third place in the all-time goalscorers table having netted 33 times in the competition.
> De Nooijer, Guus Vogels and Jeroen Delmee, the latter two were rested against Argentina, are bidding to win an unprecedented seventh gold medal in the Champions Trophy.
