Career: started his career as a barrister; called to the Bar Middle Temple (1976-78); thereafter developed a long association with television and media organisations, including Granada Television, Yorkshire Tyne Tees, London News Network, Channel 5 (CEO), Middle East Broadcasting Ltd (CEO); Managing Director of Russell Reynolds Associates; formerly Chairman of Click4e.com, Director of West Ham United plc, Chairman of Newcastle Common Purpose; Governor of the University of Northumbria at Newcastle and Chairman of ITV Programme Rights Committee.
