Midfielder Tibor 'Tibs' Weissenborn made his senior debut against arch-European rivals the Netherlands as an 18-year-old sensation, and in the following three years proceeded to play in over 100 international matches. At just 27, Weissenborn has over 320 caps to his name - a figure that signifies just how important he is to his side.

The terrific midfielder has a big influence on every game that he plays for Germany, and the Olympic final will be no different.

Born in Berlin but currently playing for Rot-Weiss Köln in Cologne, he was voted the FIH 'Young Player of the Year' in 2001. Since his debut in 1999, he has won two Champions Trophy titles, two European Championships, two World Cups and an Olympic Games bronze medal.

A fan of all sports, he names Boris Becker and Michael Jordan as heroes and 1976 Olympic gold medallist and well known German coach Carsten Keller as his greatest sporting influence.

He has studied Sports Science at Humboldt University in Berlin and uses the motto, 'live by the day'.
