About SportAccord

The mission of the SportAccord administration is to implement the decisions made by the General Assembly and the Council, and carry out all the administrative duties of SportAccord, under the supervision of the Director.

Structure

The administration of the SportAccord is placed under the responsibility of the Director, Mrs Nolvenn DUFAY DE LAVALLAZ, under the authority of the President, Mr Hein VERBRUGGEN. A five-person team supports the work.

Location - Environment

SportAccord has two offices.

Lausanne - Switzerland

The main office, relocated from Monaco in April 2009, is based in Lausanne at the “Maison du Sport International” (MSI), where most day to day affairs are managed.

> MSI: This infrastructure is a unique complex that brings together under one roof several of the leading players in international sports administration. Indeed, the MSI hosts more than twenty International Sports Federations and Organisations, including several departments of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Strategically positioned by the shores of Lake Geneva, the MSI, officially opened on June 2006, comprises a reception building and three office blocks, forming a modern, welcoming and functional complex in a prime location.  This new infrastructure, owned in equal parts by the City of Lausanne, the State of Vaud and the International Olympic Committee constitutes a remarkable opportunity for International Sports Federations and SportAccord, allowing them to work together, cultivate contacts, share experience and exploit synergies. Moreover, it enhances the status of Lausanne, as the administrative capital of international sport. In September 2009, the construction of the fourth building will start.

Monaco - Monte Carlo

The principality of Monaco has been home to the GAISF since 1978. Well-located in the centre of Monaco, in the “Villa le Mas”, the former main office remains opened and still deals with a few activities.
