Mie Prefectural Sun Arena
The Sun Arena is an attractive facility dedicated to Mie Prefecture's enthusiastic efforts to push ahead towards the 21st century by drawing a wide variety of exciting events to Mie. Featuring a main arena, sub arena, international conference hall, and reception room, the Sun Arena is a focus of regional activity and plays host to various events, conventions, and much more. With the boat, the ocean, and the sail as its architectural theme to reflect the historical importance of the sea to the Ise-Shima region, the Sun Arena is an ideal gateway to the 'Sunbelt Zone,' which aims to develop a region in Mie encompassing several counties, cities, and villages along the coast as an international resort.
The Main Arena is a multi-purpose hall capable of hosting a variety of large-scale national and international events, concerts, performances, and sporting competitions such as basketball and gymnastics, as well as trade fairs and exhibitions. In 2006, the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup Final was held in this venue.
